Ausschreibung | Call for Tenders | Procurement of Dendrometer Stations for the EU Project SCAN-DANUBE

Within the framework of the EU-funded project “Strategies for Conservation of narrow-leaved ash populations (SCAN-DANUBE, DRP0300848)”, BFW (Project Partner 2) intends to procure dendrometer stations for the continuous monitoring of stem growth, climate and soil parameters.

Interested companies are invited to submit a written offer.

Technical Specifications

Dendrometers

  • 12 circumferential dendrometers (increment sensors) for trees with trunk circumference >10 cm
  • Resolution ≤ 1 µm, integrated data logger, adjustable interval (10 minutes – 2 hours)
  • Suitable for year-round outdoor use, operational even with water levels up to 1 m above ground
  • Battery life ≥ 4 years with hourly recording (batteries included, replacements available)
  • Battery replacement possible without removing the device from the tree
  • Non-invasive mounting (no screws, nails, pins penetrating the stem)
  • Cable length ≥ 10 m, extendable to 20 m, with protective sleeve
  • Data download possible without removing the device (Bluetooth, IR, WiFi, USB, HDMI etc.)
  • 1 download cable included, additional units available for purchase

Station Mounts

  • 2 robust mounting systems for year-round outdoor use, tripod solutions not acceptable
  • No securing with wire, chains or ropes
  • Preferred: galvanized ground screw ≥ 50 cm with stainless/galvanized pipe ≥ 1 m, sealed top cap
  • Functional during periods of up to 1 m flooding above surface

Climate and PAR Sensors

  • Air temperature: -30 °C to +60 °C, accuracy ±0.2 °C
  • Relative humidity: 0–100 %, accuracy ±2 %
  • Both placed in radiation shield with integrated PAR sensor (±5 %) and bubble level
  • Online data transmission at least twice per day

Soil Sensors

  • 3× soil moisture sensors (minimum 1 mandatory), range 0–100 %, accuracy ±3.5 %
  • 2× soil water potential sensors, range -10 to -1800 kPa, lifespan ≥ 10 years
  • 2× soil temperature sensors, -40 °C to +50 °C, resolution ≤ 0.1 °C
  • Cable length ≥ 4.5 m, protected against mechanical stress
  • Online data transmission at least twice per day

Control and Communication Unit

  • Suitable for year-round outdoor use, max. weight incl. battery ≤ 4 kg
  • Battery life ≥ 1 year (not solar powered)
  • Communication via Bluetooth, IR, WiFi, USB, HDMI etc.
